PROVIDENCE IS ACCEPTING COMMUNITY HEALTH DONATION APPLICATIONS

WALLA WALLA—Providence St. Mary Medical Center is accepting donation re- quests for activities to improve the health of the community.

The medical center gathers information on community health needs every three years and uses it to create a Community Health Improvement Plan which guides most donations made by Providence.

The most recent plan identifies six high priority areas: youth at risk, home- lessness, behavioral health access, substance abuse, obesity and healthy lifestyles, and immunization rates. Providence St. Mary is focused particularly closely on youth homelessness, behavioral health access and immunization rates.

Providence funds activities that align with its mission and values; improve community health or aid the poor and vulnerable; and demonstrate effective per- formance and accountability. Agencies requesting funding must be non-profit. Donations cannot be made for political activities, individual efforts, or activities that do not improve community health. Agencies requesting donations must pro- vide data on the effectiveness of the programs they seek to fund.

Applications for funding are available on the Providence St. Mary website un- der “For Patients and Visitors,” then community support or at https://bit.ly/2X- hIGcf. Applications are reviewed by the Providence St. Mary Medical Center Mis- sion Committee. Forms should be submitted by August 1.
