The Times - Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Following a four-year battle with cancer, Eugene David (Gene) Crothers passed away at his home in Dayton, WA early Sunday Morning May 12, 2019. 

Gene was born in Bend, Oregon.  At the age of five, his family moved to Dayton, Washington.

He graduated from Dayton High School in 1966.  He then served 3 years in the Army spending time in Vietnam and Germany. 

Throughout his life, he had several occupations including: Appraiser with Columbia County Assessor’s Office, Purchasing Agent at Green Giant, opened Cracker B’s Pub with his brother Mike, self-employed carpenter, and retired as mec...
