Senior Tatumn Laughery swishes a free throw as part of a 7-point effort in her final game for DW vs DeSales on Jan 29th in Dayton.

DAYTON – The DW girls were overpowered by DeSales 46-21 at a Senior Night home game on Jan. 29. The game ended DW's season 1-12 in league and 2-18, overall.

"The DW girls had a fantastic first half of play against DeSales. We took care of the ball fairly well, played tough defense and were only down 5 at the break. During the first minutes of the third quarter we gave up the ball several times allowing the Irish some easy lay-ins. We started chasing and trying to play catch-up instead of running what we needed to. This only gave more momentum to the other team and we couldn't get it back. We scored 3 in the third and 5 in the fourth. You can't win many games with those numbers. These DW girls worked hard all season and improved tremendously. They are looking forward to getting better in the off-season and coming back stronger next season. We ended the year 1-12 in league play, and 2-18 overall. We will graduate two starters, Tatumn Laughery and Mackenzie Forney," said Assistant Coach Desirae Jones.

Highlights - #21 Mackena Culley opens the scoring with a three pointer. #50 Mackenzie Forney with the bucket and the foul gives DW the early lead at 7-6. #23 Elise Steinhoff with a shot inside to give DW the lead at the end of the first quarter 9-8.
