Robert Bryant, owner of Dayton Auto Repair, has been busy getting ready to open shop in the building formerly occupied by Quilts & More.

DAYTON--Robert Bryant, an independent auto repair mechanic, is opening an auto repair shop in Dayton this week.

"It's a fact," said Bryant, who has been in the auto repair business since 1984.

Bryant said he first worked in a Pendleton machine shop rebuilding engines, and he received training in auto repair while working at Round-Up City Dodge in Pendleton.

That was followed by a brief stint operating his own auto repair business, "Mobile Technology".

Bryant said he continued his formal training and received technician certification while working for Chrysler dealerships from 1998-2012.

He hired on at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Walla Walla in 2014, but called it quits last November.

"I just decided there was a beautiful building in Dayton. I could be my own boss, and I had the money to do that," he said.

Bryant and his wife Shelli live in Dayton, with their sons Kaleb, 18, and Barclay, 23.

Appointments can be made by phone at: 382-3189 or online at: http://www.daytonautorepairwa.com.
