WALLA WALLA—The Dayton-Waitsburg volleyball team took on the number one team in the state, Walla Walla Valley Academy, on the road on Oct. 16 and fell in straight sets, 25-19, 25-13, 25-17.

“This was our second time playing WWVA,” said Coach Tara Brenner. “I felt that DW played tough against the number-one team in the state. We made them work for it and in return we as a team have grown.”

For the Match, Devon Harshman had 11 Kills and Kaleigh White had seven. Harshman also had nine blocks. Tatum Laughery had 17 digs. Mya Wood had eight assists.

On Oct. 18, DW traveled to White Swan and defeated the home team three sets to one, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18.

“I am very proud of the way DW played with White Swan,” Brenner said. “We have a few injured players, which lead to changing up the offense. It took the first set to adjust to the change, but the ladies pushed through and played tough.”
