Ladies Golf Nine Hole Invitational

DAYTON-The Touchet Valley Ladies Golf Club hosted their annual Nine Hole Invitational on Aug. 22 at the Touchet Valley Golf Course.

Six golf clubs from the area attended the event: Walla Walla Country Club, La Grande Country Club, Meadow Springs Country Club (Kennewick), Buckskin Golf Club (Richland), Willow Creek Golf Club (Heppner, OR), Zintel Creek Country Club, Kennewick.

Winners of the nine-hole scramble, with a team score of 35, were Carol Sohn, Meadow Springs; Cherie Hinchliff, Touchet Valley; and Gloria Camp of Walla Walla. Gloria Camp was the winner of the day.  

In second place, with a team score of 38, were Nita Baker, LaGrande; Barbara Phinney, Touchet Valley; Mary Eggebralen, Meadow Springs; Sandy Morgan, Walla Walla.

Tied for third, with team scores of 39, were Jean Nelson, Touchet Valley; Darlene La Pierre, Buckskin; Susie Couglan, La Grande; Marilyn Hesser, Meadow Springs; and the team of Karen Rubenser, Touchet Valley; Stacey Cheatham, Meadow Springs; Judy Harris, Willow Creek; Becky Wilson, La Grande.

Other prizes awarded were Closest to the Pin: Christy Bell, Touchet Valley with the distance of 14'6"; Closest to the Line: Gloria Camp, Walla Walla; Longest Drive: Nita Baker, La Grande; Longest Putt: Kathy Martin, Willow Creek at 25'5".

Chip In: Gloria Camp, Walla Walla, on hole #6; Becky Wilson, La Grande on hole #5.

A delicious lunch was provided by Chicken Bill's Restaurant following golf.
