DAYTON—Ken Graham, owner and publisher of The Times newspaper in Waitsburg, has been appointed interim director of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce by the chamber board.

“I told them I need to be done at the end of March and I will leave sooner if they find somebody sooner. This is so the board didn’t feel it had to be in a big hurry,” Graham said.

Graham said the next chamber event is the annual Brix and Brew fundraiser, in March, and it is in the capable hands of Chairperson Ann Walsh, Chamber Events Coordinator Melissa Bryan and the many volunteers.

“That is going very well,” Graham said.

While he is at the helm, Graham said he will focus on strengthening membership and assessing how to best serve chamber members.

Graham said he has served on the chamber board “off and on” for about five years.

His first day at the chamber was Mon., Jan. 8.

Chamber Board President Kathy Berg said the board is in the very early stages of hiring a permanent director.

“We are very happy to have Ken on Board,” she said.

“We are just going to take it slowly and get everything ship-shape for the new year,” Berg said.
