Waitsburg Teams Shine at Carnival of Speed

Girls and boys place in top five; Adams named top female performer

Waitsburg's Landon Callas leads Dayton's Hayden Wooldridge in Dayton Last week in the 110 hurdles. Callas and Wooldridge finished first and second.

MILTON-FREEWATER – Waitsburg junior Emily Adams took three firsts and a second, racking up 38 points to lead the Waitsburg girls to a fourth-place finish at Friday's Carnival of Speed track and field meet at Mac-Hi here. The Waitsburg boys took fifth among nearly 25 schools competing.

Waitsburg was the top finisher among Washington state schools, including Wa-Hi, in both boys' and girls' divisions.

Based on performances, Adams was named top female athlete at the meet. She won both the 1500 and 3000 meter events, as well as the triple jump. She was second in the long jump, and scored all o...
