Sentencings/Resolutions

Austin Michael Kimmons, 19; pled guilty to two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. A third, possession of marijuana charge, was dropped. As a first time offender Kimmons was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 30 days converted to 240 hours of community service. He must pay $1,680 in fines, fees, and assessments.

Aidan Joseph Gemmell, 18, Dayton, entered a guilty plea to two counts of child molestation in the 1st degree. Sentenced to 50 days in jail for each charge. Ten days to be served in jail; 40 days served with electronic monitoring. Will serve 129 months probation DOC custody (probation) for each charge, attend an outpatient sex offender treatment program, register as a sex offender, pay $1,680 in fees, fines, and assessments and have no contact with the victim for life.

Durant A. Brown Jr., 23, Dayton; charged with two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana. A 36-month stay of prosecution was ordered. Charges will be dismissed after 36 months if he can maintain lawful behavior and make a good faith effort to remain enrolled in college.


Pleas

Deloris Lorraine Elder, 51, Dayton; entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine in June, 2014. Prosecution will recommend 24 months probation and six months with time served and charges to be dismissed if requirements are met.

Ronald Ray White, 54, Kennewick; pled guilty to violation of a no contact order – third or subsequent time. Prosecution will recommend 12 months, plus one day exceptional sentencing. Sentencing set for June 1.


Trials Set

Julia Richardson , 32, Lewiston; Charged with violation of the controlled substances act – possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Trial Set. April 28-29.

Lonnie Ray Marick, 39, Waitsburg; facing multiple theft and drug charges. Two cases will be combined for a global resolution. March 31 trial date was struck with April 6 set for trial or resolution.

Geovanni Sanchez, 22, Hermiston; charged with violation of the controlled substances act. Trial set for April 28-29.

Elijio A. Mendoza, 31, Hermiston; charged with violation of the controlled substances act – possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Trial set for April 28-29.

Brandon Wayne John; 32, Dayton; charged with two charges of first-degree escape for leaving treatment center and failing to report to DOC. Trial reset to April 6.


Fred James Martin, 42, Pasco, charged with burglary in the second degree and assault in the third degree stemming from an incident at the Rawhide Bar & Grill in Starbuck in Oct. 2015.Trial reset to April 20.

Johan Martin Filla, 49, Dayton; charged with 2nd degree assault – domestic violence, 3rd degree assault, domestic violence, and unlawful imprisonment – domestic violence. March 31 trail date was struck. Trial reset for May 5-6.

Other

Eric Ryan Vanzandt, 33, Dayton; Originally charged with assault in the 2nd degree – domestic violence, violation of a protection order – domestic violence, assault in the 4th degree – domestic violence. Charges were amended to include an additional assault charge for assaulting an inmate while in custody of the Columbia County Jail. March 31 trial date was struck with a resolution or reset date set for April 6.


Jeffrey Allen Brooks, 24, Dayton; Charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine. March 31 trial date was struck. Continued to April 6 for pretrial hearing.

Alvin Wayne Sears, 58, Dayton; Charged with 1st degree burglary, harassment – threats to kill, and 4th degree assault from an incident occurring in Jan. Sears failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued.

Delores Ann Adams, 63, Spokane. Charged with harassment – threats to kill. Arraignment set for April 6.
