Prescott Grad Receives State Pen Promotion

 

WALLA WALLA – On Nov. 1, Robert Jackson was appointed Associate Superintendent of the West Complex of the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla. Jackson is a 1988 Prescott High School graduate and son of Jack and Yvonne Jackson of Prescott.

Jackson, who is a member of the Department's Incident Management Team began his career at the WSP in 1991 as an intern with the Mental Health Program. He worked as a mental health counselor, then supervisor until 2003 when he was promoted to Corrections Specialist 3, tracking Strategic Threat Group activity.

Jackson has served as unit manager for all three living units, as well as segregation, at WSP. He also worked as an Emergency Management Specialist and shared responsibility for coordinating the facility's emergency management processes and procedures.

In 2009 Jackson began service as the Chief Investigator and in 2013, he was promoted to Correctional Program Manager for the East Complex. He also supervised the WSP Property, Mailroom, Visiting, and Community Partnership Programs.
