Aug. 30

Juvenile problem: three juveniles in black riding their skateboards down Main Street in front of the Best Western Hotel. Youth were contacted and advised to stay out of the street. Suspicious vehicle: newer black Acura spotted behind the football field taking pictures. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle. Civil disturbance in 400 Block of S. 6th, cleared with deputy contact. Erratic vehicle westbound on US 12, deputy unable to locate. Found property: possible explosive device located in the basement of a residence in the 1300 block of S. 2nd. Transferred to WSP. Suspicious circumstances reported on 100 Block of E. Commercial. Large group of individuals which turned out to be juveniles playing “Rambo.”

Aug. 31

Phone Fraud; caller claiming to have access to victim’s computer. Lost property: victim reported losing a grayish-white foot protector boot in the City Park. Report of illegal burn on Tucannon Road. Report of illegal burn on 400 Block of S. 2nd, turned out to be BBQ. Disabled vehicle on Guernsey and Main; repaired and underway.

Sept. 1

Located open door on fire vehicle at the labor camp. Appeared untouched, secured vehicle. Dispatched to two injured deer on US 12. Cows out in Baileysburg; owner contacted. Cows out on Patit Rd. Unable to determine owner, cow was off roadway at present. Suspicious person: female pedestrian walking up Hartsock Grade. Deputy contact determined all was OK. Fire along US 12. Deputy and fire personnel put out fire.

Sept. 2

John Stoich, 51, was reported to be in Dayton Mercantile’s parking lot “panhandling,” in violation of a no-trespass warning served on him. Charges are pending. Deneca Jones, 34, verbally threatened Child Protective Services personnel during court. Suspicious persons: turned out to be door-to-door salespersons selling cleaning supplies. Advised to obtain a required city permit. Found property: Small boy’s bike found under the footbridge by the dike. Placed in property room. Noise complaint on 100 Block of E. Commercial: loud generator running at night. Owner shut it off.

Sept. 3

Property line dispute on Tucannon Road. Landlord vs. tenant dispute in 700 Block fo S. 4th. Booker Rest Home tenant threatened caregiver. Erratic vehicle reported on Patit Rd.; maroon pickup was in wrong lane. Unable to locate. Disabled vehicle on 4th and Mustard was pushed out of roadway. Report of child abuse/neglect on 200 Block of E. Richmond is under investigation. Report of violation of protection order on 500 Block of E. Richmond, unfounded. Injured deer reported on Little Goose Dam Rd. Unable to locate.

Sept. 4

Report of erratic vehicle eastbound on US 12; transferred to WSP. Deputy arrested Eddy Terry, 30, on a misdemeanor warrant out of Walla Walla. Report of unknown substance leaking form the back of a truck on US 12. Unable to locate, call transferred to WSP. Chimney fire on 600 Block of E. Patit Ave. Received information that a wanted juvenile was at a football game, deputies were unable to locate.

Sept. 5

Welfare check on juvenile hunched over on their bike at 400 Block of W. Main St., juvenile was just resting. Suspicious persons reported on 500 Block of E. Washington. Victim reported that two individuals had been peering into her bedroom. Deputies were unable to locate suspects; no description. Deceased deer in roadway on US 12. Call transferred to WADOT. Non-injury vehicle vs. deer collision. Wanted person: juvenile brought in and transferred to JJC in Walla Walla. Vehicle prowl: victim reported that around 2 a.m. someone took a cell phone, sunglasses, watch, wallet and $50 from his coat and from his vehicle located at the Bluewood Fire Camp. A man and woman driving a small red vehicle were seen in the area. Anyone with information should call (509) 382-2518. Deceased deer in roadway on N. Touchet Road. Deputy removed deer. Report of two suspicious vehicles driving past the road closed sign, entering the Bluewood Fire Camp, spotlighting tents, then leaving. Deputies made contact with the vehicles and gave warnings for road closure violations.
