Alumni Weekend is Here!

DAYTON – The annual gathering of Dayton High School alumni is this weekend. Festivities begin Friday night as classes celebrating milestone anniversaries gather to build their parade floats.

Many activities are in store on Saturday, including:

Alumni Parade – 10 a.m. on Dayton's Main Street – Members of classes with milestone anniversaries will ride floats down Main Street during the annual parade.

Alumni Annual Meeting – 11 a.m. in the Dayton Historic Depot Courtyard

Open House at the Depot – The Dayton Historic Depot will be open for free tours throughout the day Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., a special awards ceremony and reception will be held for those who donated quilts to this year's Depot Exhibit.

FoodStock – All day at Blue Mountain Station, west of Dayton (see separate story)

Artist Reception at Wenaha Gallery – Columbia County artist Jackie Penner will showcase her Western and Wildlife paintings, drawing, cards, prints and originals at the gallery from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free refreshments will be served.

Live Theater at Dayton's Liberty Theater – The Liberty Theater will present the Opera Elect production of the live musical 'Tomorrow Tomorrow' Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. (see separate story).

High School Open – Dayton High School will be open to visitors Saturday afternoon

Alumni Potluck Sunday – Dayton High alumni and friends are invited to a free potluck at Dayton City Park, beginning at noon on Sunday. Bring food and a lawn chair.
