KENNEWICK – Waitsburg resident Steven Ray Long, 27, was arrested Jan. 30 while driving a car near the blue bridge in Kennewick just minutes after the vehicle was reported as stolen from a nearby apartment complex.

The Kennewick resident, Joel Madigral-Nava, told police that he had started his car at about 2:45 a.m. Friday and left it running to return to his apartment momentarily. When he returned, the car was gone.

A Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the car minutes after hearing of the theft over the radio and pulled Long over. Long was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and driving while suspended. He was booked into the Franklin County Jail.
