If It Isn’t Broken, Don’t Fix It!

Dear Editor,

I am fairly new to Walla Walla; I've been employed as a Corrections Officer for the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office for 14 months. I've had the privilege of working for a sheriff's office that demonstrates professionalism to the highest degree. I believe this to be due in part of the expectations of Sheriff Turner, and his administration.

Sheriff Turner expects his staff to be professional, thorough, meet expectations, and be proactive at all times in order to provide optimal service for Walla Walla County. I have never experienced a request or expectation from Sheriff Turner that was unattainable or unreasonable.

I believe that Sheriff Turner is confident in his staff as whole because our work schedule allows time to attend regular training sessions to increase efficiency. All officers share a common goal and that is to go home unharmed to our loved ones; Sheriff Turner has strived to keep us prepared for the unexpected and has equipped us with the necessary tools to do so.

I enjoy my new career, providing public service for Walla Walla County, working with my fellow officers, and working for a stellar administration. I already have a sheriff I can trust! Steven Perez Walla Walla
