The Times - Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Dayton High School students presented a Town Hall Meeting to the community last Thursday evening at the Liberty Theater in downtown Dayton. Senior Dain Henderson, ASB President, was master of ceremonies, and the students on stage represented the number of kids in the nation killed in alcohol-related deaths every 15 minutes. Throughout the evening guest speakers such as Columbia County Prosecutor Rea Culwell and Waitsburg resident Paul Elliot discussed the dangers of youth alcohol consumption. The event was presented as part of Dayton High School's Draw the Line campaign this spring coordinated through the Washington State Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking.
