Touchet Valley schools and communities will be sending off their winning sports teams in style this week. School officials encourage residents of Prescott, Waitsburg and Dayton to come out along the routes and cheer on their athletes on the way to their respective competitions. The Waitsburg-Prescott sports combine will hold a community pep rally Friday to mark the accomplishments of its cross-country team and to boost the spirits of the soccer and football teams for their upcoming playoff games. Led by the pep band, the WP rally will start at the high school at 2 p.m., cross Coppei to Academy Street and go north on Main Street before turning east to Preston Park where buses for the Prescott students will be waiting by 3 p.m. The Dayton Bulldogs volleyball team will get its sendoff to the state playoffs in Yakima on Thursday, starting
at 12:15 p.m. at the high school. The team will drive up and down Main Street under police escort before heading west.
