HIGHWAY 125 CLOSED THURSDAY

WALLA WALLA - Motorist are advised that SR-125 between Walla Walla and SR-124 will be subject to closure on Sept. 9 and 10. Traffic will be interrupted due to the scheduled execution at the Washington State Penitentiary on Sept. 20. Traffic northbound from Walla Walla on SR-125 will be diverted at Carrie Street. Traffic southbound on SR-125 as well as Harvey Shaw Road will be stopped at the Harvey Shaw and SR-125 intersection and be diverted. Motorists traveling north from Walla Walla should use the Lower Waitsburg Road and then take either the Russell Siding Road or the Valley Grove Road to return to SR-125 or Harvey Shaw Road. Detour signs will be in place for southbound traffic on SR-125 at Valley Grove Road and Russell Siding Road. Mo­torists can use Valley Grove or Russell Siding Road to access Lower Waitsburg Road. Traffic will not be allowed past the Harvey Shaw Road intersection. The road closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday and may extend through the early morning hours of Friday.
