Two new park-style benches were recently installed at the Smith Hollow Schoolhouse grounds in Dayton. The benches are courtesy of the Anderson family of Dayton, friends & supporters for the late Rob Anderson, and Columbia REA. They compliment the recent bike rack/hitching post memorial for Rob Anderson. The green metal benches match existing public seating on Dayton's Main Street. DAYTON – The Columbia County Planning Commission gave its approval last month to a proposed new county ordinance which would add much-needed teeth to the county’s ability to enforce its zoning and health codes.
