December 5, 1937 – September 9, 2026
Desmond L. Witt-a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend-passed away at home on September 9, 2026, at the age of 88.
Des was born on December 5, 1937. Over the course of his life, he worked as a heavy-equipment mechanic and farmed both irrigated and dry land. He remained active for most of his life and dearly loved his horses and dogs. He also enjoyed time outdoors, from the beaches of the coast to the mountains, as well as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating.
Des was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne, and his second wife, Wanda.
Des is survived by his children, Scott Witt and Lori Miller and her husband, Don; his brothers, Kay Witt and his wife, Lucia, and Steve Witt and his wife, Ann-Marie; his grandchildren, Kaelei, Cassi, Amanda, and Dani; and his 13 great-grandchildren.
His family and friends will remember the time he shared with them and the many memories they made together. Des was always ready to help a neighbor and take part in his community. He is deeply missed and will be forever loved.
A celebration-of-life open house honoring Des will be held on October 17, 2026, from noon to 2:00 PM, at Lions Hall on the Waitsburg Fairgrounds. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember Des, celebrate his life, and share the memories he leaves behind.
