DAYTON - Three Waitsburg girls participated in the Columbia County Fair Horse Show on August 29 and 30 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds.
Sydney Smith earned 1st place in the Western Pleasure junior class; 1st place in the English Pleasure junior class; and received red ribbons in Fitting and Showing, Halter Mare Class, and Trail class.
Ashlyn Brooks was the Reserve Champion in Fitting and Showing intermediate class and received two blue ribbons in Halter Geldings and Western Pleasure intermediate class. She earned red ribbons in Intermediate Trail, Bareback, and Western Equitation.
Rylee Cole earned blue ribbons in Fitting and Showing, and Barrels and Figure Eight. She rode her horse, Ringo.
Smith and Brooks traveled to Walla Walla on Saturday, September 5th to be flag carriers in the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier parade. Smith led the Pioneer Posse group, and Brooks carried a flag for the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days.
