WAITSBURG -Last Saturday, January 24, the Waitsburg Alumni Association President, Deanna Tipton, presented a $1,000 donation to Ross Hamann, President, and Julie Karl, Vice President of the Waitsburg Booster Club.
The Waitsburg Alumni Association's mission is not only to support graduates through scholarships and financial support but also to foster a sense of community through events and gatherings, and to facilitate networking opportunities for alums.
"The board feels that it's important to partner with the Booster Club to benefit future Cardinal alums as well," said Deanna Tipton. "We want to help fuel school spirit, help with community pride, and inspire student achievement, which will hopefully create a positive engagement to last for generations."
For the last two years, the WAA has helped at the Booster Club's Annual Pep Rally on the first day of school with a free hot dog dinner. The pep rally is an opportunity for the community to learn about the school's extracurricular activities for the year.
"The Booster Club has identified and discussed several improvement projects for the future," said Ross Hamann. "This money will go toward a project that will serve a real need where both clubs can collaborate on."
The two organizations share many of the same goals: helping students feel valued, families feel connected, and communities feel proud. Cultivating connections between current students and alumni builds lasting relationships and helps the community thrive.
