[Caption] Dave and Sherrie Morris found some new "lawn art" in front of their home on Tuesday morning. The lid of the toilet reads, "You've been pottied." The Waitsburg FFA Chapter is hosting a Game of Thrones fundraiser to help cover costs for 19 students to attend the State FFA Convention. "Attractively" decorated thrones (toilets) may be delivered to the yard of your choice for a fee.

Six Preston Hall track records were bested as the Mustangs place second to a Hermiston, Ore. School in an eight-school meet in MiltonFreewater last week. The next meet will be today in Pomeroy at 3:30 p.m. School Records that were broken included Clay Lindsey breaking Curtin Johnson's mark of 13.28 in the 100 m. dash. Lindsey's time was 13.09. Chris Phillips broke three of his own records, shaving two seconds off his 4:57 1500 m. time; lopping 16 seconds off the 800 m. in 2:29; and beating his 400 m mark in 1:03, two seconds faster.

Kenneth Gohlman will be the marshal of the 1974 Days of Real Sport Parade on Saturday, May 18. Ken, a grocer here for nearly 50 years, has been in charge of the betting booth at the DRS for the past 25 years. Kenny, who was Citizen of the Year in 1973, has been a past president of Commercial Club, city councilman, K-P Lodge, Walla Walla Elks and is secretary of the Masonic Lodge and past master. Kenneth and Dorothy Call of Waitsburg were married in 1933, and they have one daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Cherie) Kurth of Seattle. They have one grandson, Mathew, also of Seattle.

Three polo teams are scheduled to play at the Days of Real Sport May 28-29-30. They include Spokane, Boise and Toppenish.

Senior students at Wait Hi enjoyed their annual "sneak" to Spokane Wednesday. They visited the City Scenic drive, St. John's Cathedral, Gonzaga U., Duncan Gardens at Manito Park, Holy Names College and several other places of interest.

Mrs. Bob Collins is returning Saturday from a three weeks trip by air to Hawaii where she has been visiting her daughter, Miss Collen Collins.

May 9, 1924

Walter Kruchek is having a full basement put under his residence on Preston Avenue. When completed he will have a room 30 by 54 with cement walls and floor. The improvement will cost around $1,000. John Kanz and son are doing the cement work.

A surprise birthday party was given April 30 for Mrs. E. A. Lytton at the home of her son Percy Lytton in honor of her 67th birthday. Those present were Mrs. Long, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Macomber, Mrs. Sweazy, Mrs. Hoagland, Mrs. Lakin, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lytton and Mrs. E. A. Lytton.

Fred Cox and J. L. Harper have gone into the chicken business having purchased together a fine new incubator.

W. H. Ingalls made us a short call on Wednesday morning. Mr. Ingalls was just on his way to his mountain pasture with one hundred head of young steers.

H. P. Bruch of near Prescott, who recently purchased the W. S. Guntle property just east of this city, made this office a very pleasant call on Monday afternoon. Mr. Bruch is making some very noticeable improvements on his place and expects to move his family there next week.
