Columbia County Community Pool workshop April 18

April 11, 2024

DAYTON — The Columbia County Parks and Recreation Pool District will host a community work session on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dayton School Multipurpose Room. The work session will be led by board commissioners Ted Lowe and Katie Leid. Community members are invited to come and collaborate in developing a vision for a community swimming pool. The work session will build off the results from the Pool Party session hosted by the Friends of the Dayton Community Pool in 2022. The CCPRPD says this is the time for the community to voice their vision and wish list. The district appreciates the importance of collaborating with the community to develop an overall plan for the pool.

After the work session, the Friends of the Dayton Community Pool will meet to elect new officers. Anyone passionate about constructing a new community swimming pool and bringing back programs, including regional youth summer swim teams, swim and lifesaving lessons, junior and adult aquacise, should plan to stay for the meeting. The Friends of the Dayton Community Pool is a 501 c(3) non-profit that is eligible for many funding opportunities to assist the Pool District achieve the goal of a new swimming pool. Come and be part of the team.
