WAITSBURG - Families and community members have geared up to raise funds for seven Waitsburg students to attend the National Amazing Shake event in Atlanta, Georgia. At the regional competition in February, the students earned their places to represent the Waitsburg School District for the first time at the national event.

Two fundraisers are planned before the students leave for the March 20-24 event. Proceeds from the sale of Cardinal gear will also go towards the trip expenses and can be purchased from Tracy Barron at tbarron@waitsburgsd.org and Ten Ton Coffee at 216 Main St., Waitsburg.

On Monday, March 4, trip supporters will offer a spaghetti fundraiser at the Waitsburg Elementary School multi-purpose room. The dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. will include a dessert auction with the Amazing Shake students as auctioneers. A wide range of entertainment is included in the $10 dinner donation.

The following Monday, March 11, fundraisers will hold a Family Fun Night at Preston Hall. There will be BBQ for purchase and games for twenty-five cents per ticket. Games in the gym, board games, and inflatable games will be available between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Mark your calendar and help send Verbena McLoughlin, Olivial Kiefel, Lillian Carpenter, Chloe McCaw, Carter Barron, Wyatt Parrish, and Jaylynn Gleason to Georgia for the National Amazing Shake event.
