DAYTON—In “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Mantra is still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, and will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force.

Rotten Tomatoes website critics did not like this movie (34% favorable), but the audiences did (81%). IMDb rates this movie as 5.8 out of 10. The Rotten Tomatoes critics’ concensus was that “Jason Momoa remains a capable and committed leading man, but even DC diehards may feel that “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” sticks to familiar waters.” The audience summary was “Featuring stunning visual effects and plenty of action, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is a solid sequel with a positive message.” This movie is rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence and some language. The parent’s guide on the IMDb website lists this movie as moderate for violence and gore, and for frightening and intense scenes. Language was considered mild, and all other categories are rated none. Movie runtime is 124 minutes (2 hrs).
