Cardinals feel the Boost

WAITSBURG-School spirit was in full force Monday night at Waitsburg Booster Club's Membership Drive and Community Kick-Off event. The multipurpose room at the Elementary School was packed with students, family, staff, and community members, all in support of the fall sports season for Cardinal athletes.

David Long of Walla Walla DJ set the energy just right with his tasteful tunes and gave special introductions to the football, cheer, and volleyball students. Attendees enjoyed a tasty BBQ dinner, thanks to dedicated the Booster Club Committee, and donations from local businesses and community members. Columbia County Health Systems, Waitsburg Grocery, The Lions Club, Franz, and Julie Karl Law Office all contributed to the success of this event. By the end of the kick-off, the booster club gained 18 new memberships and sold 12 Cardinals yard signs.

If you want to support our local Cardinal students, contact the Waitsburg Booster Club for membership information or attend an upcoming game. The Football team and Cheer squad will take home field for the first time this year on September 2 at 7 p.m. Cardinal Volleyball girls will be away for their first few games, but you can catch them September 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Waitsburg High School gym.
