First Waitsburg Happening April 29

WAITSBURG-This Saturday, businesses in Waitsburg are extending hours, offering pop-up retail, live music, food and drink specials, and art for the first of three Waitsburg Happenings. Here are only a few treats in store for visitors and guests.

Visit the Grand Opening of the Touchet Valley Accoustic Music Project (TVAMP) studio at 141 Main St. Project founder and leader Kate Hockersmith has taught and arranged international travel for youth bluegrass bands through her program under RYES. Be sure to check out the new studio and support this Waitsburg tradition. Saturday, 4p.m. to 7 p.m.

American35 has food and drink specials for the occasion. No Happening is complete without live music, and MJ & The Traumatones will be onstage from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., playing their blend of funk, rock, and electronica. No cover, no worries, come early to find a seat. Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Gaudy Gals on Main are extending their hours for the event, staying open until 7 p.m. Located in the front of Waitsburg's Town Hall, visit the talented sisters for some retail therapy. The shop has a carefully curated collection of art, jewelry, collectibles, and endless surprises.

At Waitsburg Art Garden (WAG), landscape paintings by Fred Betz and figurative drawings by K.S. Gregutt will be on display for the day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WAG is easy to spot from Main Street; look for the cheerful green Quonset hut behind the Banner Bank. A chance to say hi to Ten Ton Coffee's former barista before his next trip to Italy.
