I am excited to announce I am running for the position of Walla Walla District Court Part Time Judge.

I served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Walla Walla County from 2013 to 2020. In April 2020, I started my own law firm. My primary area of practice is public defense in Walla Walla Superior Court.

As a deputy prosecutor, I appeared weekly in district court. I handled cases from inception to resolution. That included pursuing trials - both before the judge as well as before a jury. As a private attorney, I have also assisted in both the petition for and defense against harassment orders. I am exceptionally familiar with the types of hearing in district court, as I maintain a continued presence there for both criminal and civil matters.

I understand the importance of making difficult, nuanced decisions relying on the laws of Washington State. As a deputy prosecutor, I responded regularly to motions both in superior court and district court involving every type of action, from suppression of evidence to motions to dismiss. As a criminal defense attorney, I have pursued myriad motions as well. In both roles, I have had to not only scrutinize the law, but I have also had to evaluate the facts and circumstances of each individual person affected by the case.

My experience has prepared me to make this significant step. Whether I am presiding over a jury trial, evaluating a speeding ticket, or hearing a petition for a protection order, I will have the breadth of experience and depth of knowledge to be able to accurately and fairly render a determination that is supported by the law, and which addresses the unique needs of the parties appearing before me.
