One hundred fifty-five years ago, on Nov. 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered a short address at the dedication of a military cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It became one of the most renowned speeches in American history. In just 271 words, Lincoln reminded a war-weary public why the Union was engaged in and determined to win the Civil War.
