Pleas/Sentencing:

-Magdiel (Mack) Hernandez De La Cruze, 36, Dayton; charged with residential burglary in one case and possession of stolen property in the second degree in a second case. He pleaded guilty to both in exchange for the state agreeing to a first time offender waiver in the first case, along with a full statement, the state will recommend time served for each case.

-Darrel Jean Salgado, 22, Dayton. Charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia not used for marijuana and with intent to deliver methamphetamine, third degree assault, resisting arrest, use of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of possession of legend (prescription) drugs in a second incident. He pleaded guilty in a combined plea agreement. The state will waive sentencing for 24 months while Salgado is enrolled in an outpatient drug and alcohol program through Blue Mountain Action Council. After 24 months, the state will dismiss all but the resisting arrest and third degree assault charges and recommend no jail time.

-Steven J. Testerman, 19, Dayton (in custody). Charged with possession of stolen property in the second degree. Testerman changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced to five months with time served and $1,680 in fines and fees.

Trials Set:

-Travis Rogelio Garcia, 31, Dayton. Charged with first degree trafficking in stolen property and second degree possession of stolen property for allegedly taking a bike from Whitman College and attempting to sell it on Facebook. Trial set for Feb. 1-2.

Joseph Kent Wilson, 43, Dayton. Charged with four counts of possession of legend (prescription) drugs without a prescription. Trial is set for Feb. 15-16.

-Thomas Dean Hutchens, 39, Dayton. Charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree and malicious mischief. Trial date set of Feb. 7.

Other:

-Juan C. Casteneda, 19, Pasco. Charged with one count of first degree burglary – armed with a deadly weapon, four counts of first degree assault and four counts of unlawful imprisonment – armed with a deadly weapon. Court approved defendant’s request for a new attorney. Case continued to Jan. 24 to appoint new attorney.

-Marshall Eli Nechodom, 22, Waitsburg. Charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was allegedly found driving impaired during a traffic stop on Highway 12 and the drugs and items were found in the vehicle. Status of the case is continued and Nechodom is in treatment.

- Joshua Brownell Wilson, 22, Dayton Charged with assault in the fourth degree and assault in the fourth degree and harassment – threats to kill in one case and with assault in the second degree – intention to cause bodily harm and assault in the fourth degree – domestic violence in a second case. A bench warrant was issued on Jan 10 and quashed on Jan. 16. The case is continued to Jan. 24 for resolution.

- Hector Vela, Jr., 55, charged with distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18, delivery/manufacture with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of over one ounce of usable marijuana. Court denied defendant’s request to strike trial. Continued to Jan. 24 for pre-trial.
