Local football standout Jacob Dunn, son of Marty and Becky Dunn, was selected to play in the Earl Barden All-Star Classic at East Valley High school in Yakima, Wash. on Sat., June 25. Dunn played on the East team, which soundly defeated the West 25-0. Dunn reportedly had his own mini fan club in the stands, in spite of the scorching temperatures. Kevin Steffanson

WHS grad Brad Huffman, son of Dena Wood, raced against thousands of athletes to complete the Ironman 70.3 in Coeur d'Alene on Sun., June 24. He beat his goal of completing his first half Iron Man in 6 hours, with a time of 5:47:12. The course included a 1.2 mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a half marathon. Huffman raised over $1,000 for the Anna Schindler foundation.
