Body Found in Preston Park

Photo by Dena Wood Sheriff's deputies worked in the snow to remove a dead body from Preston Park at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. The incident is believed to be a suicide and the victim's name had not been released when The Times went to press.

WAITSBURG – Sheriff's Office officials were on the scene to retrieve a dead body discovered in Preston Park at about 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Tues., Feb. 21.

Walla Walla Sheriff's Office Chief Matt Brown said the death was an apparent suicide and the victim's will not be released until the family has been notified. He said there is no reason to believe there is any risk to anyone. No further information is available at this time.
