Lady 'Dogs Start Season with Two Wins

DAYTON – The Dayton girls' basketball team traveled to Oakesdale on Friday and pulled out a win, 46-38. On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs hosted Pomeroy and barely held off the Pirates, winning 43-41.

Against Oakesdale, Dayton built a big lead in the first half, outscoring their opponent 19-4 in the second quarter and taking a 30-16 lead into the half.

"We really got contributions from everyone in some way," Dayton coach Clayton Strong said. "Katie Patton and Kira Boggs gave us a short burst at the end of the first half that allowed us to protect a couple of girls from picking up a key foul."
