Grand Opera at the Liberty Theater

At noon on Sat., Oct. 8, the Liberty Theater, in partnership with the San Francisco Opera, will present La Bohéme, the first of four of the San Francisco Opera’s critically acclaimed, sold-out performances. These recorded, high-definition presentations provide a high quality experience that leave the audience feeling as though they were hearing the opera live.

San Francisco Opera’s Music Director Nicola Luisotti conducts Giacomo Puccini’s most beloved opera. This heartwarming story of starving artists falling in and out of love in 19th century Paris is a seamless mix of romantic passion, poignant tragedy, and high-spirited fun. The outstanding cast is headed by superstar Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu as the ill-fated Mimi, and by Polish tenor Piotr Beczala as her lover, the poet Rodolfo.

Tickets for the HD Cinema presentation of the San Francisco Opera can be purchased online at http://www.libertytheater.org or by calling (509)382-1380. A season ticket for all four San Francisco Opera HD presentations – which also include Elixir of Love, Don Giovanni, and Showboat – are available at a discounted price. The San Francisco Opera Grand Cinema Series is made possible through a grant from the Blue Mountain Community Foundation.
