Retiring RN Karla Scott (l) enjoyed a laugh with Tammy Larue and Jake Long at her retirement party earlier this month.

WAITSBURG – A crowd of appreciative community members gathered in the Plaza Theater here on Friday to wish Waitsburg Clinic registered nurse Karla Scott well in her retirement. A tropically decorated cake read, "Good Bye Tension, Hello Pension."

Karla started working part-time at Dayton General Hospital in 1976, where she remained until 1985. She worked for Dr. Luce in Dayton from 1985 until 1996 and then moved to Dayton Hospital's Columbia Family Clinic. Scott stayed at Columbia Family Clinic for about a year, before transferring to the Waitsburg Clinic, where she has served faithfully for nearly 20 years.

Karla says she plans to do some traveling and hopes to tackle projects she's never had time to finish (or start). She and her husband, retired Wait-Hi teacher Jerry Scott, already have tickets to Alaska in April. Scott is well-loved and will be greatly missed.
