A trial was underway in Dayton last week in the courtroom of the Columbia County Courthouse. Levi Helgerson of Dayton is facing a charge of first degree assault of a child for an incident that occurred in February 2014.
Jury selection began Monday, Nov. 2, and the trial is expected to run at least through Friday.
