WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg FFA Chapter is accepting registrations for their annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. Community groups, clubs and businesses are invited to participate in the event that kicks off on Dec. 6, during Waitsburg’s Hometown Christmas.

Trees will be lit from Dec. 6 – Dec. 31. FFA provides extension cords, tree stands, and trees and the entrant provides their own lights and decorations. Entrants must remove decorations on Dec. 31 and the city crew will dispose of the trees.

A $15 entry fee covers the cost of the trees. Decorating takes place between Nov. 30, until Dec. 6 at 12 p.m. Trees will be placed in flagpoles and labeled with the entrants name.

A trophy for first place and People’s Choice will be awarded at 4 p.m. during Hometown Christmas. Registration forms are due by Nov. 20. Contact Nicole Abel at nabel@waitsburgsd.org for a registration or for more information.
