Members present: K.C. Kuykendall, Kevin House, Marty Dunn, Mayor Walt Gobel, Karl Newell, Debra Callahan

Public Comment:

-Delores Nettles asked about plans for City Cleanup Day.

New Business:

-Approved EMS Levy Agreement with Waitsburg Ambulance Service

-Set a public meeting date of Feb. 19 to discuss planning commission’s recommendation for the preliminary plat for Whoopemup Meadows.

-Changed the date of the March City Council meeting to Thursday, March 26.

-Approved Ordinance 2015-1030 which adds a seventh seat to the planning commission.

-Discussed a proposal by council member K.C. Kuykendall to separate garbage from water/sewer rates to allow for vacant homes to cancel garbage service while retaining water. Councilman Dunn moved to leave the billing structure as-is, Newell seconded, with all but Kuykendall in agreement.


-Approved a water system model agreement with Anderson-Perry with the stipulation that the contract revert to standard errors and omissions liability limits.

City Clerk's Report:

City Clerk Hinchliffe spoke about testifying at the Senate Ways and Means Committee in Olympia in regard to budget cuts of funds allocated to the Main Street Bridge replacement. Discussed the design for the bump-out on the library for the Fanny Weller art piece. Reported that all three bronze sculptures are on target to be finished and placed by Celebration Days. The city crew has been preparing the mill site for the installation of the mill turbine art piece. Bids on water line repairs on Main Street will be awarded in March.
