WP's David Just put the hurt on a competitor during a match earlier this year.

DAVENPORT – The WP wrestling team traveled to Davenport on Saturday, Jan. 24, where two of the three competing grapplers walked away with wins. "The WP wrestlers showed a lot of improvement. They were making the moves happen!," said Coach Lanny Adams.

132 lb. Devin Newman won by pin in 1:29 against Connor Beattle of Davenport. "Devin wrestled aggressively. He did not want a repeat of his last couple of matches. He moved off on the whistle and dominated," said Adams.

138 lb. David Just also came out fast from the whistle to pin Bailey Hunt of Davenport in 1:03 and JT Tachell, also of Davenport, in 1:34. "He made the moves happen and controlled his matches," said Adams.

145 lb. Dejay Lalka lost to Matt Delafield (Davenport) in a 11-9 decision and Justin Regan (Davenport) in a 18-2 technical fall. "Dejay had a couple of tough matches. He wrestled well, fought hard, and moved continuously. He improves each time he gets on the mat," said Adams.

Tristan Newman did not compete at the Davenport match. The WP wrestlers were to compete in Ritzville on Tuesday, before their next league match in Reardan on Saturday.
