Dayton Elementary School Teacher Ginger Bryan is hoping to raise enough money through http://www.donorschoose.org to buy six iPad mini tablets for her combined second/third grade classroom this year. As of this week, 13 donors have contributed $996. Bryan has $1373 to go. "My school is filled with hardworking students who [are] actively engaged in the learning process every day," Bryan posted on her donations page. "They are responsible and hard-working kids who need opportunities to excel with cutting-edge technology." Bryan explained the iPads would be used during both math and language arts lessons including reading, writing and typing. Her classroom has just one computer, which is primarily used for Accelerated Reader testing, she wrote. "Students will be engaged in technology that is helpful and current," Bryan wrote. "Small groups can work at their individual levels. In addition, the iPad minis can be used as a way to 'flip the classroom' offering additional instructional lessons where students can practice a concept that they didn't understand and keep working at it until they get it! We will use and treasure these devices!" The project expiration date is posted as April 7, 2015. Visit http://www.donorschoose.org and enter Dayton's zip code (99328) in the search box to find this project's page.
