Dec. 22

Assault reported between residents at Booker Rest Home; case referred to Adult Protective Services. Fraud reported after victim received a consumer line of credit he had not applied for from Boeing Credit Union. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office stated that BCU has had over 400 similar complaints recently. Littering reported on Starveout Road; an unknown subject dumped 10 plastic bags of leaves on the side of the road sometime since Dec. 17. Non-injury collision occurred when a vehicle struck a deer on Highway 12 near milepost 360. Vehicle in unreported location in Starbuck was “keyed.”

Dec. 23

Possible domestic assault on W. Dayton Avenue reported; deputies were searching for the male suspect and a report was forwarded to the prosecutor. Fraud reported; caller claimed to be from IRS and threatened to sue resident for back taxes. Traffic hazard: tree blocking roadway on Stonecipher Road and stop sign down at the intersection of Shea and Barker roads. Road department was notified.

Dec. 24

Dayton resident Anthony J. Nieto, Jr., 36, was arrested on suspicion of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence. No further information was available by press time Monday.

Dec. 25

Dayton man John G. Waltermire, 24, was arrested on an outstanding warrant; incident to this arrest Waltermire was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. Waltermire is being held on $25,000 bond in the Columbia County Jail pending trial.
