Dayton Girls Cruise Past Pomeroy, 41-22

Dayton's Madison Mings showed off her left-handed dribble against a defender in a game in Dayton earlier this month.

DAYTON - The Dayton girls' basketball team woke up at halftime and cruised to any easy win over Pomeroy at home on Dec. 9, 41-22. The win gives the Lady 'Dogs a 4-0 record with four more games to play before the Christmas break.

After taking a 17-14 lead at the half, Dayton shut out the Pirates in the third quarter and outscored the opponents 24-8 in the second half.

"I thought again our effort was really good," said Dayton coach Clayton Strong. "We had some lapses especially in the second quarter that hurt us, but the girls to their credit got it corrected."
