Public is Invited to Potluck to Welcome Bicyclists

DAYTON – The public is invited to a community potluck at the First Congregational Church-UCC (214 S. 3rd St., Dayton) on Monday, August 4 at 6 p.m. in order to welcome bicyclists from the Fuller Center for Housing, a nonprofit Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide. The 30-35 bicyclists will be stopping overnight in Dayton on their coast-to-coast their journey from Atlantic City, NJ to Astoria, OR.

The public is invited to bring a dish and visit with the bikers to learn more about the ministry and their experience. Donations of string cheese, jerky, fresh fruit, granola bars, energy gels, protein bars, honey, jelly, bread, bagels, pretzels, and crackers will be welcomed on Monday eve as well. The riders will load up their carry bags for the Tuesday leg of the journey with easy to low-prep, easy to eat foods for the ride to Kennewick.
