Juan Arebalos Jr. peace- fully passed away Oc- tober 31, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Juan was born March 18, 1957 to Juan Sr. and Sofie Arebalos in Delano, California.
Juan grew up in Pacoima, California, then his family moved to Dayton, where he graduated from Dayton High School and then Spokane Community College with a degree in Art.
In 1986, Juan married his wife Leticia Ceballos. To- gether they have a daughter Melody and son Brandon, both from Lakewood, Wash- ington.
Juan was employed by Joint Base Lewis/McChord as a Master Sign Maker. He took pride in his projects and had a strong work ethic. Ever since he was a young boy, Juan drew animated car- toons and designed his own action flip books to create motion of his characters. He made his own cartoon called "The Whale." He loved to draw Mickey Mouse, Casper, Felix, and many oth- er characters. When he was in High school he designed and painted the Bulldog mascot on the band's bass drum. He gradually began drawing people. He dabbled in sculpturing and worked in painting with oils. Juan was a collector of comic books and enjoyed classic movies, and loved Star Trek, Bruce Lee and early Walt Disney. When he wasn't draw- ing, he was playing guitar. He had a love for music and would sing classic hits espe- cially the Beatles. Juan had a thirst for knowledge.
Juan was a kind spirit and loving man to all he encoun- tered. He was humorous and always positive about life.
Juan is survived by his wife, Letty, a daughter Mel- ody, a son, Brandon, all of Lakewood, Wash., his father Juan Sr., a younger sister Elizabeth (Tom) Arebalos- Jagelski from Dayton, an older sister, Dee Ann Ad- ams, from Spokane, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Juan was preceded in death by his mother, Sofie Areba- los, Grandparents Mary and Hermino Juarez, and Benino and Natividad Arebalos.
A rosary was held No- vember 8th at Saint Joseph's Church in Dayton. Memorial contributions can be made to Seattle's Children's Hospital.
