DAYTON - The Lady Bulldogs' winning streak came to an end last week with losses against number one Tri Cities Prep and second-place rival Asotin.

"This was a tough week for us," head coach Shannon Turner said. "We went five games with both of these teams earlier in the season and only lost by two points in the fifth game. We just didn't go out and play as a team this (past) week."

By contrast, Dayton lost to TCP in four sets last Tuesday - 5-25, 21-16 (for Dayton), 10-25 and 21-25, and in three against Asotin on Thursday - 23-25, 11-25 and 26-28.

The Lady Dogs failed to send timely cues to one another in the game against TCP or set up the ball cor­rectly, Turner said.

"When we play like we did (against the Jaguars), you're going to get beat," she said. "We didn't play ag­gressively or communicate and we didn't pass the ball well."

Sarah Phillips posted 21 digs, while Chelsea Wool­ridge was 7 for 7 serv­ing and had 8 assists. Lexi Ramirez had 9 digs and was 10 for 10 from the line.

The team had similar challenges in their matchup against Asotin two days later.

"We struggled to get our passes where we needed them," Turner observed. "With 49 team passing er­rors, you can't do much and certainly cannot set up your offense."

Phillips led again with 21 digs. She was 5/5 from the serving line. Her younger sister Jenna had 10 digs and was 6/7 serving. Woolridge had 15 digs, 16 assists and 5 kills and was 9/9 serving. Madison Mings registered 8 blocks, 7 kills and was 11/13 serving. Ramirez had 9 digs, 3 kills and went 11/12 on the line.

The Lady Dogs, 3-4 in league before Tuesday's game against WP, were in need of a turnaround, the head coach said.

"We need to step it up, work harder and play to­gether," she said.
