Bulldogs split with Trout Lake

October 3, 2013

DAYTON - Dayton's standout forward Ian Smay scored four goals Saturday as the Bulldogs won the second of a pair of weekend matches against Trout Lake in Dayton. The Mustangs broke out to a 2-0 lead before the Bulldogs made their comeback.

"It was rewarding to see the team continue to play hard throughout the game and come back from a deficit," said coach DJ Frame. "They are believing in themselves. We were able to keep a fast paced game due to our subs."

Forward Roy Han had one goal and an assist Saturday. Dereck Brincken had two assists and Alex Weppler added one.

Frame gave special tribute to his substitute midfielders. "Carissa Price and Angie Dedloff played solid as midfielders and allowed us subbing opportunities while maintaining quality play," he said.

The Bulldogs won for the second Saturday in a row, after Beating Northport in Spokane a week earlier.

On Friday night, Dayton lost a close game to the Mustangs, 2-1, also on the Dayton field. Han scored the team's only goal, with an assist from Smay.

The Bulldogs host WP Wednesday, before traveling to Spokane to Face the #1 ranked St. George team on Saturday.
