A 52-year-old woman from the Tri-Cities was accidentally shot in the foot with a .22 pistol on Cougar Canyon Road, in Columbia County, on the evening of Saturday, June 22. The victim had just recently purchased the gun, and her husband was dem- onstrating how to clear the chamber of bullets when the weapon accidentally discharged and shot her in the ankle. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office handled the investigation and reports no charges will be filed in this incident.
