CITIZENS TO ADVISE SCHOOL BOARD

September 16, 2010

DAYTON - Monday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m., a group of administrators, coaches, parents and students will meet in the district boardroom to review and discuss potential changes to the Dayton School District's activity code. The code contains guidelines for student participation in athletics

and co-curricular activities such as FBLA and FFA. The committee will provide a recommendation to the Board of Directors sometime later this fall or winter regarding changes to the code.

Then on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 3:10 p.m. administrators, teachers, parents, community members, and students will meet in the district boardroom to discuss an online learning policy. State legislators have mandated that school district pass a policy providing direction for districts and students related to online learning. Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) has developed a sample policy; local districts can use the sample as a guideline to complete their work. For a copy of the sample policy, contact the district office at 382-2543 and ask for Jana or email her at janae@daytonsd.org.
