Ten Years Ago February 8, 2007 W.H.S. Senior Jeremy Nichols presented a $500 check to the Waitsburg A.S.B. Football Fund and Football Coach Jeff Bartlow this week. Nichols participated in the 2006 Qwest Leadership Challenge and performed 40 hours of community service. At a Seahawks football game last October, Nichols and a group of students from the region were honored on the field at Qwest Field. As it turns out, this is a vision that many want to help become reality. Several years ago, Waitsburg constructed a Veterans Memorial Wall, which was paid for by donations. Ten Years Ago November 2, 2016 Waitsburg Middle School was awarded a $300 grant sponsored by the Seattle Seahawks Student All-Star Program. The grant was given to help with the financial costs of starting up Middle School Football in Waitsburg. The grant was applied for by Zach Bartlow last November. Several fire officials have remarked that people have been uncommonly helpful to firefighters and other support personnel during this siege.
