Removal of debris from a January house fire on 4th Street in Dayton was a community project coordinated by the Dayton Lions Club. The project depended on several partners who made donations and/or stepped up to help. ** A small gesture yet a huge impact for me. A while ago, at Macy’s, I was asked for my ID. It always is a struggle for me to get my driver’s license out of its compartment as the fit is tight. Finally, I got it out and she said, let me add this onto your drivers license for you. She took a piece of scotch tape, put part of it of one side, folded it and put the other sticky side to the back, creating a “pull tab,” than handed it back to me. I have mentally thanked her many times for that act of kindness....
*A shout-out to the Waitsburg Lions Club for feeding the crowd during the Little Guys Wrestling match in Waitsburg on Saturday. *Thanks to Waitsburg School District Facilities Director for being willing to work a Saturday to get the softball field into shape. *Carrie Hennigar found a lost dog in the road in Waitsburg, tied her up, and kept her fed and watered until the owner was found (which happened quickly).
